One way to the huge and beatiful Lake Kenyir. I wanted to have some climbs on that day, but did not manage to find the way to Bukit Kesing (there was a rumour saying that there's a tarred road up to the summit leading off the Nr 11...) so I followed further to the west to Tasik Kenyir.
These days the road is partially under construction and you'll find a lot of un-tarred pieces as well as quite bad road conditions. Once you're in the Tasik Kenyir area, the road get very good and it's really fund riding there.
Before you reach the Lake Kenyir Jetty, there is quite a steep climb of about 1km after that the gradient get's smoother and steadily go up up to 300m above sea level.
...depending on your stamina, you could continue further as far as Gua Musang in Kelantan and then even further up to the Cameron Highlands. I am just not sure, whether the road is already opened all the way to Gua Musang as there were quite a few landslides recently.
For all interested in (triathlon) racing - the part from the Jetty (is approx 1km behind the steep climb) to the 300m-above-sea-level-point is the bike leg of the olympic distance triathlon, that is held over here.
