Der Geopfad selbst ist ca. 8,8 km lang, der Weg zur S-Bahn nach Köln ca. 1 km. Sobald man aus BGL raus und mitten in der Natur ist - und das geht schnell - kommen viele Aufschlüsse, eingebettet in z. T. sehr schöner Landschaft. An einer Stelle Weitblick bis nach Köln (sofern das Wetter dies zuläßt). Gastronomie an der Alten Dombach.

Von der S-Bahn-Endhaltestelle durch die Fußgängerzone zum Forum (roter großer Bau beim Rathaus). Dort auch Fossilienausstellung, und erste Tafel des Geopfads.
