Zur Abtei Mariawald
Rundwanderweg von Schmidt hinab nach Heimbach und bergan zum Kloster Mariawald. Nach Abstieg über "Stationenweg" des Klosters Richtung Schwammenauel , entlang am Rursee und wieder ab "Eschauel" hinauf nach Schmidt. Eine Abkürzung und somit auch eine Wandererleichterung ist per Schiff von Schwammenauel wieder zurück nach Schmidt-Eschauel möglich. Aufgrund der starken Anstiege Hinweg hinauf zum Kloster Mariawald sowie Rückweg ab Eschauel hinauf nach Schmidt, wird eine mittlere Kondition vorausgesetzt. Daher ist vor der Rücktour nach Schmidt im Kloster Mariawald (Gaststätte) eine Stärkung in Form der bekannten Erbsensuppe zu empfehlen.
