Auf dem Weg in das bekannte Coburg werden das Fichtelgebirge, die Ausläufer des Frankenwalds und das Coburger Land durchfahren. Höchstschwierigkeiten in Form von längeren Anstiegen sind auf dieser Etappe nicht zu verzeichnen.
Nach einer ca 20 km langen flacheren Anfahrt sind im Fichtelgebirge drei kurze Anstiege zu bezwingen. Über Gefrees und Wirsberg erreichen wir das Tal des Weißen Mains und haben dort bald einen schönen Blick auf das Wahrzeichen von Kulmbach, der Plassenburg. An Kulmbach vorbei verlassen wir das Weißmaintal über ein paar fränkische Hügel in Richtung Rodachtal und sind da bereits im Coburger Land. Dann fahren wir auch schon ins Etappenziel ein.
