Die Tour startet im Oberfränkischen Tettau. Von Hier geht es durch den Frankenwald bis nach Saalburg und entlang der Bleilochtalsperre bis zur Fähre "Linkenmühle". Hier wird man für 1,80€ übergesetzt. Die Strecke führt weiter über Ziegenrück bis zur Staumauer "Hohenwarte". Von dort geht es dann durch den Thüringer Wald wieder zurück nach Tettau.
Die Tour bietet schöne Aussichten und kurvenreiche Strecken abseits der Hauptstrassen.
Unterwegs gibt es vielfältige Rastmöglichkeiten und Besichtigungspunkte.
Sehenswertes unterwegs:
Schloss Burgk und Saaleturm, Schieferpark Lehesten, Altvaterturm Brennersgrün, Heinrichshütte Wurzbach, Mühlenfähre Linkenmühle, Gleitschirmschule Altenbeuthen, Staumauer und Imbiss Hohenwarte mit Wasserkraftmuseum, Märchen- und Kletterwald Saalburg.
