Vom Parkplatz (300m vor dem Forsthaus Valepp) geht es ein Stück auf der Teerstraße vorbai am Forsthaus. Ab dem Forsthaus führt eine ansteigende Schotterstraße zur Ochsenalm un ins Tälchen des Enzenbachs. 100 m nach der Abzweigung zum Elendsattel weist ein Wegweiser in Richtung Erherzog-Johann-Klause rechts ab. Ab der geht es immer auf Pfaden in herrlicher Landschaft hinab zur Grundache. An der Grundache entlang erreicht man nach einer Gesamtgehzeit von ca. 2 Stunden die Erherzog-Johann-Klause.
