Highly recommended
We did the route in reverse, parking at Unkel, but either direction makes for a break for lunch in Linz.
As you can see from the profile, there are a few climbs and some of the paths were a little slippery after the rains the day before. However this path is really well maintained with treacherous bits being supplied with steps and/or handrailing.
There are some smashing panoramas from the lookout points. A thoroughly recommended stretch of the Rheinsteig which has given us a taste for trying to some of the other section.
