Die Tour ist die Route 06 aus dem Wanderführer "Kreis Mettmann Süd". Sie führt vom südlichen Teil des Neandertals Richtung Haan und über Erkrath wieder zurück. Die Tour ist einfach zu laufen und bedarf keiner großen Aufwendung. Leider sind die asphaltierten Abschnitte, bzw. die Durchwanderung von Millrath-Ost, einem nicht so schönen Stadtteil, nicht besonders sehenswert und verkleinern den Reiz der sonst landschaftlich schönen Tour.

Startpunkt ist der Wanderparkplatz am Winkelsmühler Weg in Erkrath. Die Zufahrt führt unter einer Bahnunterführung hindurch, die je nach Fahrtrichtugn leicht übersehen werden kann.
