Facile escursione in una bella giornata di fine luglio. Il Monte Specie si trova leggermente spostato di qualche centinaio di metri da un sentiero principale che porta l'escursionista in cime anche più importanti del gruppo della Croda Rossa.

Il pulman ci ha lasciati in località Carbonin, frazione di Dobbiaco E percorrendo la Val Chiara siamo giunti alla cima. Siamo scesi per la Val Canopi e il pulmani ci ha ripresi al passo Cima Banche.
