Die Runde beginnt am Parkplatz des Waldcafe in Holzlar und führt v.a. durch Wald und z.T. durch Felder an Holtorf und Vinxel vorbei bis zum Kloster Heisterbach. Von dort folgt man dem Rheinsteig Richtung Bonn bis zum Foveux-Häuschen. Dort zweigt der Weg dann Richtung Pützchen ab und führt zurück zum Ausgangsweg.
