Wir folgen dem Weg zum Windrad und weiter dem Forstweg hinunter ins Riedlbachtal. Dort der Straße talauswärts bis zur Einmündung des Hundstalbaches gehen. Hier links und nach einem Jagdstand die Forststraße rechts aufwärts bis zum Kamm.
Hier wieder links; vorbei an einer Bildtafel und 2 Kreuzen zu einer markanten Kreuzung. Wieder nach links und in nördlicher Richtung treffen wir auf den Hausruckkammweg. Auf diesem bis zum Steiglberg (Aussichtswarte) und nach wenigen Metern zum Parkplatz.

Von Ried im Innkreis nach Lohnsburg, Kobernaußen und Stelzen. Kurz nach dem Steiglberg (Kuppe) beginnt links die Forststraße zum Windrad. Hier einige Parkplätze am Straßenrand.
