Die Wanderung startet in der Ortschaft Fontanales. Nach einem Anstieg, der uns über den Ort führt, verläuft der weitere Weg oberhalb des Barranco über einen Kamm. Ein Camino Real führt uns in den eigentlichen Barranco de la Virgen. Diesem fruchtbaren Tal folgen wir über eine Straße Bergan. Am Haus Nr. 63 geht es jetzt richtig steil den Berg hinauf bis wir eine Landwirtschaftliches Gebiet erreichen das etwas unterhalb von dem erwanderten Bergkamm liegt. Den Bergkamm erreicht folgen wir der Beschilderung nach links Richtung Fontanales.
