Die Runde beginnt und endet im netten Örtchen Clonakilty in West Cork. Von hier geht es zunächst auf kleinen Teerstraßen zur Umrundung der kleinen vorgelagerten Halbinsel Inchydoney. Die Tour sollte ausschließlich bei Ebbe gegangen werden, weil man sonst im zweiten Teil, der praktisch der Küstenlinie folgt ziemlich nasse Füße kriegen dürfte. Bei Ebbe ist der Weg abgesehen von ein paar glitschigen Stellen problemlos gehbar und man sieht viele Wattvögel aus der Nähe.
