Die Burg Nideggen ließ Graf Wilhelm II. von Jülich im Mittelalter erbauen. In ihrem Jenseitsturm befindet sich das einzige Burgenmuseum im Rheinland. Ihren Namen verdankt die Burg ihrer Umgebung: "ein Fels" (ecke) "um den man beneidet wird" (nît). Von hier aus haben Sie, wegen der extrem hohen Lage, einen guten Rundumblick über die gesamte Stadt, bei klarem Wetter können Sie sogar den Kölner Dom und das Siebengebirge am Horizont erkennen.
