Die heutige Wanderung führt uns auf einem der Weitwanderwege Irlands, dem Western Way, durch das Maam-Tal, welches durch den Film "The Quiet Man" mit John Wayne berühmt wurde. Oberhalb des Maumeen-Passes befinden sich am Hang eine kleine Felsnische, Leaba Phádraic (St. Patrick's Bett) genannt, und ein unauffälliges Kirchlein sowie zwei heilige Quellen. Die Quellen sind ein Bergheiligtum des altirischen Gottes Lugh und liegen am zweithöchsten Pass Westirlands.
