Die „entschleunigende“ Wirkung des Klosters Himmerod findet auf der nachfolgenden Eifelsteig-Etappe ihre Fortführung: Der Weg folgt dem abwechslungsreichen Flusslauf der Salm, entlang ihrer farbenfrohen Bachflora, vorbei an zahlreiche Mühlen sowie durch alten Baumbestand mit weit ausladenden Baumkronen. Geologisch interessante, fast senkrecht stehende Schieferfelsformationen können genauso bestaunt werden, wie der herrliche Blick auf Bruch, mit seinen beiden Türmen der historischen Burganlage.
