Nideggener Burgen
Der Weg führt von Schmidt über Blens und Nideggen nach Abenden dann nach Schmidt zurück.
Die Burg Nideggen, erbaut 1177 von Graf Wilhelm II. von Jülich, ist eine imposante Höhenburg, die jahrhundertelang eine wichtige Rolle im linken Rhein-land spielte. Im Geldrischen Erbfolgekrieg 1542 wurde die Burg eingenommen und weitgehend zerstört. Der Wiederaufbau begann im 20. Jahrhundert. Heute befindet sich in der Burg ein Restaurant und das Rheinische Burgenmuseum.
Für Kinderwagen ungeeignet.
