Die Tour beginnt und endet an der "Alten Ölmühle" in Eutin, Ortsteil Fissau. Hier befindet sich ein spezieller Parkplatz für Wasserwanderer (kostenneutrales Abstellen von Kraftfahrzeugen) und eine Steganlage, um Boote in die Schwentine einzusetzen. Nach ca. 700m Fahrt (stromaufwärts/Strömung kaum vorhanden) gelangt man in den Großen Eutiner See mit Blick auf die Eutiner Freibadeanstalt. Diese lassen wir Backbord liegen und fahren unter der Bebensundbrücke in den Hauptsee ein. Zwischen Angelverein und Segelverein Eutin geht es weiter Richtung Gaststätte "Redderkrug", dann ist der Wendepunkt fast erreicht.
Auf dem See herrscht bei gutem Wind reger Segelbetrieb, des weiteren ist auf ein motorisiertesTouristenschiff zu achten.
