Die Wandertour im Nationalpark Gesäuse zur Haindlkarhütte auf 1121m beginnt beim großen Parkplatz an der Gesäuse Bundesstraße zwischen dem Gasthof Bachbrücke und Gstatterboden. Der Wanderweg zur Haindlkarhütte ist 2,9 Kilometer lang und hat eine durchschnittliche Steigung von 17%. Die 504 Höhenmeter sind auch für Kinder mit einer guten Kondition ab ca. 8-10 Jahren geeignet.
