Von der Talstation der Seilbahn geht es entlang eines markierten Weges vorbei an der Buchauer Alm zur Erfurter Hütte. Von dort weiter in Nordöstlicher Richtung zur Rofanspitze. Beim Weg hinauf haben wir ab dem Joch an dem man zum Grubersee hinunter sieht jedoch nicht mehr den Trampelpfad genommen, sondern sind kurz Richtung Norden und dann am Grat entlang eines schmalen Steiges bis zum Rofangipfel. Am weg zurück zur Erfurter hütte sind wir ab diesem Joch einen etwas südlicheren Weg parallel zum Trampelfad gegangen.
