Vom Bahnhof in Gmund aus gehen wir in Richtung Tegernseer Straße und überqueren die Mangfall. Danach biegen wir nach links in den Osterbergweg ein und wandern bis zur Gasslerstraße. Von nun an folgen wir immer den Wegweisern "Tegernseer Höhenweg" und haben dabei einem herrlichen Blick über den Tegernsee. Am Hotel Bayern erreichen wir Tegernsee und gehen über die Neureuther- und Bahnhofstraße hinunter zum Kloster Tegernsee. Hier gibt es eine gute Einkehrmöglichkeit (Bräustüberl). Anschließend wandern wir am Seeufer entlang bis zur Hochfeldstraße, die uns zum BOB-Bahnhof Tegernsee führt.
