Ausgangspunkt ist das Alpengasthof Scheikl.
Vom Parkplatz über die Forststraße, die den Schlepplift quert, zur Schalleralm. Dann weiter zur Rotsohlalm mit der Rotsohlhütte. Weiter geht es über den Teufelsteig auf das Plateau der Hohen Veitsch. Am Hochplateau angekommen, geht es gemütlich zum Graf-Meran Schutzhaus, oder links hinauf zum Gipfel der Hohen Veitsch (1981m).
Der Abstieg führt über die Serpentinen der Schaller zu Schalleralm und wieder zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.
