Stage four of the trans Rhodopean Trail. The tour links the border villages of Zmeica and Buinovo. Some people refer to it as the smugler's road because in the 50s and the 60s of the 20th century it was used by fugitives as an attempt to flee into Greek territory. Nowadays the traveller can see the remnats of this period such iron fences and former guard posts. The last stage of the tour proveides great views towards the central part of the Rhodope mountains and the upper valley of Buinovska River.
