Vom Bahnhof geht es entlang der Gasteiner Ache nach Bad Hofgastein und weiter die Ache entlang bis nach Anger. Hier wird die Bundesstraße überquert und nach einigen Kehren auf der Straße wird die ehemalige Bahnstation Angertal erreicht. Am Beginn des Angertals steht der bewirtschaftete Hartlhof (098; 2 Std.). Weiter durch das Angertal hinein. Vor den Liftanlagen links die Forststraße folgen bis zur Schattbachalm. Hier beginnt der Steig, der durch das Almgelände hinauf zur Miesbichlscharte (099; 3 3/4 Std.) führt.
In 1 Stunde abwärts zum bereits sichtbaren Pochhartsee (100) und vorbei an der Pochhartseehütte nochmals steil hinunter nach Sportgastein (101; 3/4 Std.).
Die Rückreise erfolgt mit dem Postbus zum Ausgangspunkt.
