Vom Bahnhof Kleve geht es zuerst ein kurzes Stück über eine ehemalige Bahntrasse, um dann auf einem gut ausgebauten Radweg entlang der B57 den alten Ortskern von Kalkar zu erreichen. Weiter geht es durch Felder zum Beginn des „Alleenradweges“ (ehemalige Bahntrasse Kleve – Marienbaum – Xanten). Auf ihm bis zum Bahnhof Xanten.
