Die Wanderung beginnt am Bahnhof Klingenberg/Colmnitz, und endet am Bahnhof Freital/West. Zwischen beiden Bahnstationen besteht eine regelmäßige Zugverbindung. Es ist eine Wanderung über Wald-und Feldwegen. Unterwegs kann bei entsprechendem Wetter eine Badepause in Grillenburg eingelegt werden.

Von der A17 benutzt man die Abfahrt Dresden/Gorbitz(2), und dann weiter in Richtung Freital.
