Startpunkt ist Rüttenscheider Ecke Florastraße in 45131 Essen. Von hier aus geht es Richtung Alfried Krupp Krankenhaus und anschließend auf dem Radweg der ehemaligen Bahntrasse abwärts Richtung Ruhr. Dies ist eine sehr schöne Strecke, die auf dem Rückweg auch einige Hügelchen kennt.
