Die Auffahrt bis zum Berggasthaus Herzogstand geht über eine gut zu fahrende Forststraße, die allerdings an einigen Stellen anspruchsvoll steil ist (15%).
Die letzten Meter bis zum Gipfel muss das Rad geschoben oder getragen werden!
Die Abfahrt vom Gipfel verlangt downhill Geschicklickeit! auch die Abfahrt über die alte Kesselbertgstraße hat einige freeride Elemente.
Auch lohnt sich ein Abstecher zu den Kesselbergwasserfällen was wieder einige Meter anspruchsvolle Singltrails bedeutet.
WICHTIG: Die Strecke wird von vielen Turisten erwandert, so dass sie erst gefahren werden sollte, wenn die Gondelbahn bereits geschlossenhat!

Von Kochel fährt man auf der Bundesstraße weiter bis zum Fuß der Kesselbergstraße. Rechts zum Kraftwerk Walchensee, wo man auf dem Parkplatz des Kraftwerks umsonst parken kann (Was in Kochel nicht üblich ist)
