Namensgeber der Tour ist ein, auf den ersten Blick seltsam in der Landschaft platziertes Bauwerk, namens Die Brücke von Canitz. Die eigentliche Bestimmung dieses Bauwerkes liegt in der Funktion einer Rohrbrücke für die Trinkwasserversorgung von Leipzig.
Voraussetzung ist ein gutes Touren- oder Mountainbike und etwas Kondition. Ein E-Bike ist leider nicht zu empfehlen, da die besagte Brücke nur über eine steile Metalltreppe zu erklimmen ist. Und je nach Wasserstand der Mulde können es auch ein paar Kilometer mehr werden.
Am Start- und Zielpunkt der Tour kann kostenlos geparkt werden, ebenfalls ist eine Anreise per Bahn möglich.
Auf der Tour selbst kann man die Landschaft und historische Gebäude, auf stellenweise einsamen Wegen, genießen und erkunden.
