Vom Parkplatz der Gaststätte Zum alten Fritz führt der Weg rund um den Röh- und Zimmerberg. Auf der ansteigenden Strecke durch die Weinberge bei Gleishorbach sind immer wieder sehr schöne Blicke in die Rheinebene möglich. Bei Gleiszellen führt die Wanderung westwärts am Holzelberg vorbei in den Pfälzer Wald. Die Schutzhütte am Karlsplatz und eine Picknickbank bei der Kapellen Schneise sind die nächsten Etappen. Vorbei an einer Schießanlage und der Wappenschmiede geht es anschließend wieder zurück zum alten Fritz.
