Das Waldgebiet um die „Hohe Warte“ barg einst die erste Patriot-Stellung der US-Streitkräfte in Europa und diente diesen später als Truppenübungsplatz. Heute ist es ein vielseitiges Naturschutz- und Quellgebiet mit einem riesigen 6-Megawatt Solarpark und Zuchtgehege seltener Pferde.
