Vom Duisburger Hbf über die Königstr. und dem Stadtteil Neuenkamp zum Rheinufer in Homberg. Weiter nach Baerl und entlang des Lohheidesees zum Krauthaus Heesenhof (Einkehrmöglichkeit). Über Budberg und Eversael zur Fähre Orsoy – Walsum. Dann über die HOAG-Trasse (ehemalige Werksbahn) zum Kaisergarten in Oberhausen. Von hier durch das Gelände des ehemaligen Rangierbahnhofs Essen-Borbeck zum Radweg „Rheinische Bahn“. Dem bis zum jetzigen Ende (Stadtgrenze Essen-Frohnhausen/Mülheim-Heißen) gefolgt und durch Frohnhausen zum Bf Essen-West. Von hier aus mit der S1 in ca. 15 Min. Fahrzeit zurück zum Hbf in Duisburg.
