Vom Bahnhof Essen-West geht es durch die Hirtsiefer-Siedlung zum Radweg „Rheinische Bahn“. Auf ihm gelangt man bis zum Mülheimer Hauptbahnhof. Von dort geht es durch Mülheim-Styrum und Oberhausen zum CentrO. Durch den Ripshorster Gehölzgarten gelangt man zum Bahnhof Essen-Dellwig Ost. Von hier aus verkehrt alle 30 Minuten eine S-Bahn zum Bahnhof Essen-West.
