Die Wanderung beginnt in Baiersbronn Mitteltal beim Parkplatz der Bundeswehrhütte im Ilgenbachtal. Ab hier geht es langsam bergauf bis zur Ilgenbachhütte. Diese bleibt links liegen und wir wandern immer noch weiter bergan bis hinauf zur Rappenberghütte. Hier haben wir den höchsten Punkt der Wanderung erreicht und nun geht es leicht bergab auf dem Luxemburgerweg bis zur Parzelle Looch und vorbei am gleichnamigen Brünnele. Ab hier ist es nur noch eine kurze Strecke bis zu unserem Ausgangspunkt am Parkplatz der Bundeswehrunterkunft.
