Eine interessante Tour führt zur Halde in Bottrop über alte Zechenbahntrassen und Treidelpfade am Rhein-Herne-Kanal. Unterwegs ist immer etwas interessantes zur Industriekultur zu entdecken. Beispielsweise der Landschaftspark Duisburg mit der Möglichkeit mal einen Hochofen zu besteigen. Sehr lohnenswert. Die beschriebene Tour war unsere Abschlusstour vor der Umstellung auf die Winterzeit in 2007. Bei blauem Himmel ist der Blick auf den Tetraeder auch für Fotofreunde sehr interessant. Außerdem bietet sich ein grandioses Bild bei Sonnenuntergang Richtung Westen über den Rhein-Herne-Kanal von der Schleuse Oberhausen aus.

Startpunkt der Tour war der Bahnhof Rheinhausen-Ost. Problemlos mit der RB Duisburg-.Aachen zu erreichen oder Bf. Rheinhausen mit der Rhein-Haard-Bahn. Wer keine Lust hat findet immer eine Bahnstation in der Nähe.
