Die Tour kann man in Baiersbronn am Bahnhof beginnen. Man überquert den Forbach und schon geht es steil aufwärts über die Stöck und den Metzenberg zur Stöckerkopfhütte, auch Glasmännlehütte genannt. Hier geht es weiter über den Metzenberg zur Wasenhütte und hinauf auf den Kniebis und zur Alexanderschanze. Hier kann man den Radweg abseits der B 500 nehmen und auf den sogenannten 1000 m Weg wechseln, der bis zum Ruhestein führt. Von hier fährt man am besten auf dem alten Ruhesteinsträßchen bis nach Obertal. Zum Ausgangspunkt nach Baiersbronn geht es entweder auf der L 401 oder auf dem Murgradweg.
