Alternativ zur Fahrt mit der Untersbergbahn vom Parkplatz Eishöhle am Ortsausgang Marktschellenberg per Pedes zur Eishöhle. Sehr gute Ausschilderung.
Die am Wanderungsbeginn am Wegweiser angegebene Zeit von 3 3/4 Stunden für den Aufstieg ist sehr reichlich bemessen. 2 1/2 Stunden sind gut zu schaffen, 2 Stunden im Eilschritt.
Die Führungen durch die Eishöhle fanden im Oktober 2008 bis 15 Uhr stündlich statt.
