Das Teilstück ab ca. Kelberg bis Prüm sollte man nach Möglichkeit umfahren, da dort zu viel Verkehr ist, der Rest der Strecke ist sehr ruhig und schön. Das Teilstück von Niederprüm bis Steinebrück führt über den Eifel Ardennen Radweg (flach und sehr guter Straßenbelag).
