Die Markierung 936 beginnt im romantischen Bärengraben, der einst Bärenzwinger der Burgbesitzer war. Ab der Höhensiedlung Schwaighof führt der Weg unterhalb des örtlichen Wasserreservoirs vorbei und verbindet einige hochgelegenen Bauernhöfe. Er quert mehrere Quellbäche, die alle nach Süden der Lafnitz zufliessen. Die Wegrichtung ist fast immer West. Schliesslich kommt ein Abstieg von ca. 150m nach St. Lorenzen am Wechsel hinab.
Weiter geht es ins Lafnitztal hinab zum Gasthaus Bergmann (Putz) und von dort wieder bergauf nach Vorau.
