Vom Wanderparkplatz in Farchant geht es am Kuhfluchtgraben vorbei am Kuhfluchtwasserfall sehr steil auf einem schmalen Steig hinauf bis zum Sattel. Man gewinnt sehr schnell an Höhe da der Steig in engen Serpentinen nach oben führt. Konditionsstärke ist gefragt.
Am Sattel folgt man dem Pfad bis zum Gipfel der sehr schöne Weitblicke nach Garmisch, Ettal, Unter- und Oberammergau sowie ins Karwendel und auf das Wettersteinmassiv mit Zugspitze und Alpspitze frei gibt.
Zurück empfiehlt sich der Weg über die Esterberg Alm (ca. 2 km Mehrweg), da der Steig den wir gekommen sind, doch steil angelegt und bei Feuchtigkeit sehr rutschig ist. Die immer steiler werdende Straße hinunter nach Garmisch zur Wankbahn verlässt man nach rechts auf den Wanderweg zurück nach Farchant.

Über die BAB A95 München – Garmisch und der B 2 bis Farchant. Vorsicht, nicht in den Tunnel einfahren. In Farchant Mitte links abbiegen bis zum Wanderparkplatz.
