Die Wanderung beginnt an der Abzweigung Eselgrund an der L 405 vor Schenkenzell. Hier geht es steil aufwärts auf den Kuhberg und zum Teisenkopf. Von der Mattenhöhe und dem Mattenweiher ist es nur eine kurze Strecke bis zum 1907 erbauten Aussichtsturm auf den Teisenkopf (764 m ) Hier kann man schöne Aussichten in die Täler rundum geniessen. Den Abstieg in das Schenkenzeller Tal haben wir über das nicht mehr bewirtschaftete „Waldhäusle“ und den „Dürrhof“ gewählt. Eine überaus herrliche Blumenvielfalt zeichnet den „Dürrhof“ aus. Über die einsam stehende Linde unweit des Hofes gelangt man wieder in das Tal beim Eselgrund.
