Eine längere und anspruchsvollere Tour führt von Oberaldein aufs Weißhorn. Der Zirmersteig Weg Nr 5 , auf dem man bis aufs Weißhorn gelangt, führt stets am Abgrund der Bletterbachschlucht entlang. Kurz vor dem Gipfel kann man links abbiegen und um den Gipfel herum wandern, sodass man auf der Ostseite mit Blick auf Latemar und Rosengarten aufsteigen kann. Zurück über den Gampelsteig (Achtung: nur für trittsichere und schwindelfreie Wanderer) mit fantastische Tiefblicke in die Blätterbachschlucht und das Butterloch.

Die Zufahrt erfolgt von Auer oder Neumarkt über Montan nach Aldein. In Aldein nach dem Dorf rechts in den Ortsteil Lerch Richtung Bletterbach aber nicht zum Besucherzentrum abzweigen, sondern die Straße weiter bis zum Parkplatz an der http://www.schmiederalm.it/de/alm.php fahren. Der Weg Nr.5 beginnt direkt beim Parkplatz und führt bis zum Gipfel.
