Die Wanderung startet oberhalb des Sportplatzes von Istán und führt von dort bis hinunter zum Stausee. Zum Schluß führt der Weg wieder hinauf nach Istán. Während der Tour bieten sich immer wieder schöne Ausblicke auf Istán, den Stausee, die Bergwelt, Marbella und das Mittelmeer.
Die Tour verlangt am Stausee kurz Trittsicherheit. Nach gut 100 Metern ist die "luftige" Passage aber schon überwunden. Für den Schlußanstieg nach Istán ist ein wenig Kondition notwendig.
