Tips and Tricks for using GPS-Tour.info

Register on GPS-Tour.info

The registration on our portal is entirely free and not connected with any obligation. The registration allows you the unrestricted use of our portal, the following fields are necessary:

• User name: Please don't use special characters, because your profile page is accessible via this username.
• Password: Must be at least 8 characters long.
• Email: Please enter a valid and active email address. Notifications from GPS-Tour.info will be sent to this address.
• First name, last name: So that you are also addressed correctly.
• It would be great if you would put a picture of you in - after all, we want to get to know you visually ;-)
• Your preferred sports: Once you are logged in, tracks of your preferred sports will be displayed with priority in the overview.
• In addition, we are planning future services to better connect the GPS-Tour.info fans of a region. For this purpose it would be important if you provide us with your geo data.

Tour search: search and find GPS tracks

The Tour Search is the heart of GPS-Tour.info. It is located centrally in the header area of the portal with the aim that you find your tracks easily and quickly. However, you can also browse the menu item Tours and Tracks and find your suitable tour there. This will take you to your personal search results:

1. Login to www.gps-tour.info

2. Enter location and / or keyword(s) in the search fields in the header - the tour search opens automatically

3. You can use advanced filter to set different parameters like categories, distance, landscape, TrackRank, .... This filter will be applied to the tour list. Alternatively, you can apply already saved filters (more at "Save search filters").

4. Tour selection from over 108,000 tracks displayed in tour list: In the map the found tours are displayed and summarized in so-called tour clusters. These clusters show how many tours were found in the respective region. By clicking on the cluster, you will be shown the underlying tour list. By moving and zooming the map, the tour list is updated automatically.

5. Rate tours using quick information and display them "in the map" (more on "Quick information in tour list")

6. Select tour and get detail info of selected track on track data sheet

7. Download track on download page in desired form (more about "Download track")

8. Let the fun begin!

Search tours now

Save search filter

You can save filter settings that are interesting to you in the track search and reuse them at a later time.

1. To do this, go to the Tour search.
   On a PC, the quickest way to open this is to click on one of the two search boxes at the top of the website.
   . On mobile devices, click on the search magnifier.
2. Now choose your personal filter criteria regarding categories and further settings, like TrackRank, length, altitude meters, etc.
3. With the "Save Filter" button you can set a name for these filter settings and save them.
4. In "My Account" - "My Filters" your saved filters are stored.
5. With "Load filter" the tour search opens with your saved settings and the tours found here. Make sure that the map section is selected according to the region.

Quick information in tour list

The tour list with quick informations is an overview of all tracks in the selected map section. It takes into account your filter settings and is automatically updated by moving and zooming the map. In the tour list you will find information about the

• Track name
• the selected category
• Creation date
• TrackRank
• Length
• Altitude meters
• Tour duration

You can sort the list according to different criteria, such as TrackRank, duration, length, etc. You will also find an orange pin next to each tour entry, so that the specific tour is displayed directly on the map.
