Zunächst um den schönen Kochelsee, herrlicher Weg. Nur zwischen Kochel und Schlehdorf läuft man neber der Straße, allerdings auf einem Fahrradweg. Dann in Altjoch die alte Kesselbergstraße hoch, in Urfeld den Reitweg auf den Herzogstand. Für mich ist das immer die Marathonvorbereitungsstrecke. Auf dem Herzogstand belohnt man sich dann mit einer herrlichen Aussicht auf Walchen- und Kochelsee und im Herzogstandhaus mit einer leckeren Brotzeit oder einem Frühstück. Sehr anspruchsvoll, aber landschaftlich ein Traum.
