Vom Parkplatz Mirador de Chio geht es los. Ohne Wegweiser gleich in die Richtung zum Pico geht es durch das scharfkantike Lavagestein. Turnschuhe sind eigentlich fehl am Platz. Der Weg ist markiert durch Steinmännchen, doch die sind in dieser Lavawüste schwer zu sehen. Weiter oben sind mehrere Wege zu begehen und auch die Vegetation wird dichter. Am Pico gibt es ein großes Plateau, gut für die Pause. Oder man geht noch 15 Minuten weiter bis zum höchsten Punkt.
Zurück haben wir einen kleinen Umweg über die zwei Schildvulkane gemacht. Dort gibt es farbig glänzene Lavasteine zu finden. Zum Parkplatz sind wir auf dem Nr.9 gegangen.
