Bis zur Kühalm eine breite Forststraße, dann weiter auf einem steileren Pfad, teilweise abschüssig auf beiden Seiten. Die letzten Meter zum Gipfel sind durch ein Drahtseil abgesichert, jedoch ohne Schwierigkeiten zu bewerkstelligen.

Von München geht es auf der A95 bis zum Autobahnende nach Eschenlohe. Dort weiter auf der B2 nach Oberau. Hier rechts abbiegen auf die B23 nach Oberammergau, dann weiter bis zum Ortseingang Unterammergau. Hier links abbiegen und der kleinen Straße bis zum Parkplatz Schleifmühl folgen . Hier kann für 2 Euro Parkgebühr pro Tag das Auto abgestellt werden.
