Start beim Stift Viktring. Vorbei am Stift, Richtung Treimischer Teiche. Dort links haltend den Forstweg nach Opferholz folgend. Kurz vor der Siedlung kann mann diese im Wald umfahren. Dann geht es wieder bergab Richtung Höflein und Rtg. West weiter, vorbei am Bassgeigensee, nach Keutschach.
Vorbei an der Kirche Keutschach, den Weg noch auf Asphalt, aber ab Rauth auf Schotter weiter folgend Richtung NO. Bald trifft man auf den Wörthersee-Rundwanderweg (blau-weiß markiert). Diesen Folgt man zuerst bis zu den Spintnikteichen (Landschaftsschutzgebiet) dann weiter der Markierung folgend, Richtung Klagenfurt. Bald geht der Weg spitz nach rechts, zurück, wieder bergauf. Die Friedlhöhe umfährt man südseitig und folgt der Markierung zum Schrottkogel.
Von da an geht es ostseitig steil bergab einen Trail folgend Richtung Goritschitzen und zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.
