Der Rundweg mach seinem Namen alle Ehre, weil er zum allergrößten Teil durch Wald führt. Weite Blicke sind daher selten, dafür bewegt man sich auch kaum auf Asphalt, sondern auf Waldwegen und-pfaden.
Auf dem Weg von Winterscheid zurück Richtung Parkplatz waren stellenweise recht ausgeprägte Waldarbeiten im Gange. Hier war der Weg teils schlecht und auch die Wegmarkierung nicht ideal. Ansonsten nette Runde.
