Dieses mitteschwere, durchaus anspruchsvolle Wanderung beginnt am Bahnhof in Neustadt / Weinstraße und endet in Deidesheim am Bahnhof.
Nachdem man in Neustadt den Bahnhofsvorplatz Richtung Post überquert hat, stößt man auf die Kennzeichen des „Pfälzer Weinsteigs“, denen man nun folgen kann. Die Kennzeichnung ist sehr gut.
Ausrüstung: normale Wanderausrüstung, Verpflegung und Getränke. Es gibt aber auch diverse Einkehrmöglichkeiten.
Optional: Wanderstöcke.
